Welcome to the Dixwell Avenue Congregational Church, UCC Website.

The object of this church shall be to bind together followers of Jesus Christ for the purpose of the worship of God, and the making of His Will dominant in the lives of the people, individually and collectively, especially as that will is set forth in the life, teachings, death, and living presence of Jesus Christ.

The hand of the Lord firmly rests upon the people of Dixwell Ave UCC Church. He has blessed this household of faith for more than 189 years – through slavery, the Emancipation Proclamation, Jim Crow, the Civil Rights movement, and now the first African American President in US history. He has made Dixwell a beacon on a hill. Dixwell’s enduring legacy is that of a church that worships. Worship is the cornerstone of all that sustains and fuels the people at Dixwell. Our faith is firmly rooted in praising and acknowledging our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
